Common Installation Errors

Common installation errors and how they can be avoided. Practical guidance for installers.

  • Leaking connection despite correct product
  • Pipe can be pulled out of clamp connector
  • Cracking noises in the line
  • Dripping threaded connection
  • Vibration and noise during water extraction
  • Pipe not deburred (seal damaged)
  • Wrong pipe diameter selected
  • Torque too high or too low
  • Support sleeve forgotten (for plastic pipe)
  • Hemp/Teflon applied incorrectly
  • Pipe not cut at right angle
  • Dirt on sealing surface
  1. 1Loosen connection and check seal
  2. 2Measure pipe diameter (caliper)
  3. 3Check pipe end for burrs and damage
  4. 4Correct support sleeve present?
  5. 5Check thread for damage and sealant
  6. 6Check insertion depth
  • Deburr and clean pipe end properly
  • Confirm correct pipe size with caliper
  • Replace seal if damaged
  • Insert support sleeve for plastic pipes
  • Clean threaded connection and reseal
  • Apply torque according to GEBO installation instructions
  • Always read installation instructions
  • Deburr pipe before installation
  • Use correct support sleeve (plastic + multilayer composite)
  • Union nut hand-tight + ¼ to ½ turn with tool
  • Do not grease seal (unless GEBO recommends it)
